“Thoughts are mental energy; they are the currency you have to attract what you desire. You must learn to stop spending that currency on thoughts you don’t want, even though you may feel compelled to continue your habitual behavior.” ~ Dr. Wayne Dyer

We are creatures of habit and habitual thinking is no exception. It is scientifically proven when we have the same thoughts over and over we create a groove in our brain, a pathway if you will, where these habitual thoughts become a go-to and flow more easily and freely.

We can begin asking ourselves, are they productive? Are they elevating us? Are they moving us forward?

How to stop a habitual thought? First awareness, then intention of the new thought, and the mindfulness to change the thought if an old one tries to sneak in.

Reminding you today, you can create a new path for a new way of thinking (and yes, that is scientifically proven as well). Everything you create starts with intention and that includes how you choose to think. If you are beating yourself up, rehashing old situations or projecting old thoughts to what’s happening now – Stop – and create a  new thought followed by your new powerful intention.

When we change the way we think, everything changes. If you want to explore this and more, a great movie to watch is ‘What the Bleep Do We Know?’
